💳 Payment Methods
At PizzaExpress, we accept a wide range of payment options in our restaurants to make paying easy and convenient:
- Cash
- Debit and credit cards (including American Express)
- Apple Pay and Google Pay
- PizzaExpress gift cards and eGifts
- Third-party gift cards and eGifts (please refer to the card issuer for full terms)
- Buyagift / Red Letter Days / Moonpig (3-Course Meal for Two) — these must be converted into a PizzaExpress eGift before your visit
If you're dining with us, either indoors or alfresco, you can also use pre-paid gift cards, including:
- One4all
- Restaurant Choice
- Love2Shop (Flexecash logo)
- Leisure Vouchers
We recommend contactless payments for convenience, but cash is also accepted.
Please note:
- We’re unable to accept cheques or Diners Club cards
- Gift cards cannot be used when paying via our app
For some bookings, such as large group or corporate bookings, payment may also be made via invoice.
🧾 Requesting a Receipt or VAT Receipt
In-restaurant purchases
A printed receipt is provided at the time of payment. If you didn’t receive one or need a copy:
- Contact us via our Help & Contact page
- Include as much detail as possible (date, location, amount paid)
- If you have a copy or photo of the receipt, please provide this
Providing receipt details helps us quickly locate your transaction and assist further.
VAT receipts
Your receipt will normally include VAT details as required.
If you need a VAT receipt re-issued, please contact us and include:
- Restaurant location
- Date of visit
- Total amount paid
- Payment method
We’ll do our best to locate your transaction and resend this to you.
💻 Online & App Orders
For orders placed via the PizzaExpress website or app:
- A confirmation email is sent after payment
- This can be used as proof of purchase
- If you need a receipt, please contact us with your order number
Please note that gift cards cannot currently be used as a payment method via the app.
🚚 Delivery Orders (Important)
If your order was placed via a delivery partner (e.g. Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Just Eat):
- Payment is taken directly by the delivery partner
- Your contract and billing queries sit with them
- You’ll need to contact the delivery partner’s customer service team first
This ensures a faster resolution as they hold your payment details.
If you’ve already contacted them and need further support, please share your order details and any correspondence with us.
💰 Charges & Refund Queries
If you believe there’s an issue with your payment (e.g. incorrect charge or duplicate charge), please contact us with:
- Date and location of visit or order
- Amount charged
- Last 4 digits of the card used (if applicable)
- Copy of your receipt or bank statement (if available)
We’ll review the transaction using our internal systems and work with the restaurant or partner to resolve your query.
📄 Invoice Payments (Corporate Bookings)
For corporate or large group bookings:
- Invoices are issued after the visit
- Payment is typically required within 14 days of the invoice date
- Invoices are usually sent via email within a few days of your booking
If you need a copy of your invoice or have a query:
- Please contact our bookings team via bookings@pizzaexpress.com
- Include your booking reference and company details where possible
