We’ve turned our kitchens into classrooms over 25,000 times!
It all started back in 1999, when one inquisitive teacher asked if her class could cook with us. More than 25 years later, our restaurants still open their doors every month to primary school classes for a fun, hands-on morning of food, learning and pizza-making.
Our school visits typically include the children creating their own pizzas by kneading their own individual dough.
They will then gain insight into the health and hygiene needed in the kitchen when dealing with food, and an ingredients quiz will follow.
The children will then be able to take their creations back to school to enjoy for lunch. Before the children leave the restaurant, they will receive a Junior Pizzaiolo Certificate with their names on it.
If you are interested, please follow the link below to guide you through the booking process. This will also give you more information on our risk assessment and how you, as the teacher, can ensure the visit runs smoothly.
Please note that our pizzerias typically can accommodate one school visit per week. Booking slots, for example, open up on 1st October 2025 for the following September 2026, with a minimum of 10 children and a maximum of 30 children per visit.
From 1st October 2025, each School Visit costs £7.50 per child, payable via invoice 7 - 14 days following our visit, and includes:
• A pizza-making session led by one of our expert pizzaiolos
• An ingredient tasting and educational discussion about fresh food
• A certificate to mark the experience
• And of course, their very own handmade pizza to take home
What to Expect
You’re going to learn a lot about cooking and delicious food with us, and you’ll certainly have loads of fun along the way. Here’s what you can expect on a typical School Visit.
9.30am: Welcome! You turn up with your class and meet the Restaurant Manager and their team.
9.45am: Before cooking begins, our Manager will run through some important cooking basics, like washing hands and staying safe in the kitchen.
10.00am: Ready, steady, pizza. Our pizzaiolo (pizza chef) now takes over, showing you how to make our famous Margherita.
Everyone will get the chance to knead the dough to create the perfect base. Then we’ll discover just how important the fresh ingredients are to the pizza’s flavour. The final touch? Topping your creations with our famous passata (tomato) sauce, mozzarella and basil.
It takes about half an hour, from kneading the dough to putting your pizza in the oven.
10.30am: While the pizzas are cooking in our giant pizza oven, get involved in our Ingredients Quiz. It’s where we taste and learn about different ingredients and then answer questions about each one.
10.45am: What’s that delicious smell? Your hot pizzas are coming out of the oven, of course. It’s time to take them back to school for lunch, along with your Junior Pizzaiolo Certificate as you’re now one of our little pizza chefs.
11.00am: Thanks for coming – it’s the end of your morning with us
