For over 20 years, we’ve proudly welcomed thousands of school children into our pizzerias to learn about fresh ingredients, teamwork, and the joy of making pizza. It’s a programme we believe in deeply and has inspired generations of young foodies across the UK.
As the costs of running these sessions continue to rise, we’ve made the difficult decision to introduce a small charge of £7.50 per child. This change helps us ensure the programme remains sustainable and continues to deliver a fun, hands-on learning experience that pupils love.
We remain committed to supporting schools and education, and we’ve worked hard to keep the price as low as possible. Every child will still receive the full PizzaExpress experience, including the opportunity to make their own pizza to enjoy.
Our visits are hosted during term time only and take place in the mornings before we open to the public. While we regularly review the programme, it currently follows a set format designed to offer a fun and educational experience.
The visit typically includes children making their own pizzas by kneading individual dough, learning about kitchen hygiene and food safety, and taking part in an ingredients quiz. They’ll then take their creations back to school to enjoy for lunch. Before leaving, each child receives a personalised Junior Pizzaiolo Certificate.

Please note: we require a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 30 children per visit. Booking slots open on the 1st of each month on a 12-month rolling basis. For child-to-adult ratios, please refer to the risk assessment.
Our finance team will be in touch with our invoice once the visit has taken place, with payment required within 14 days of the date of the invoice.
